Just wanted to add that what also contributes to the gauge feeling wrong is that the bent bar that moves when you roll is actually pointing at the left and right bank angle scales along the bottom half of the gauge edge. That is it's purpose. Those 15, 30, 45, and 60 degree numbers and tick marks are the angle of the banking. They are accurate and at higher angles of banking it will feel like the instrument is getting ahead of you but it really isn't, it's pointing at those numbers.
Hope some of this helps. Maybe this is a reason I have far more "western" aircraft in my hanger. But like anything else, what you learn to use first sets in your mind what is correct going forward.
